About the Trainer
Robert
Oldford,
the
dedicated
trainer
at
Rock
and
Roll-Over,
is
deeply
committed
to
positive
reinforcement
and
relationship-based
training.
With
hundreds
of
hours
of
research
into
dog
training,
covering
everything
from
basic
commands
to
advanced
skills,
Robert
is
currently
enrolled
in
the
Animal
Behavioural
College.
His
studies
focus
on
behavioral
science
and
advanced
training
techniques,
ensuring
a
well-
rounded and effective approach.
Robert’s
training
philosophy
centers
on
creating
a
stress-free
environment
without
aversives,
fostering
a
strong
bond
between
dog
and
owner.
His
Maremma
Sheepdog,
Marty,
has
been
a
significant
influence,
showcasing
the
benefits
of
positive
reinforcement.
Despite
Marty’s
independent
nature,
Robert
has
found
joy
in
training
him
and
aims
to
share
this
positive
experience
with
others.
His
love
for
music
also
plays
a
role,
with
Marty
learning
musical
tricks
like
keeping
rhythm
and
howling to music, adding a creative and enjoyable element to their training.
As
part
of
his
commitment
to
the
community,
Robert
will
be
volunteering
at
the
local
SPCA
to
support
and
train
shelter
dogs,
enhancing
their
chances
of
finding
forever
homes.
Although
new
to
professional
training,
Robert’s
enthusiasm
for
helping
dogs
and
their
owners
shines
through.
He
is
also
dedicated
to
continuous
learning,
with
plans
to
delve
deeper
into
specialized
areas
like
scent
work
and
agility, bringing even more expertise to his training practice.
